Bringing a tired dial back
Spotting, corrosion, dead lume, and printing that has faded off the plate. Most of it is fixable — and where it isn’t, or where we think you’d be better off leaving the dial alone, we’ll say so.
Assessment
Every dial is examined under magnification and photographed before anything is touched. You get a plain description of what is wrong, what can be fixed, and what cannot — along with a firm price.
Stripping & resurfacing
Spotting, corrosion, and flaked lacquer are taken back to bare metal. The plate is then resurfaced to the original texture — sunburst, matte, or gloss — before any printing goes back on.
Printing & logo recreation
Signature text, model lines, and small print applied by pad printing. Where the original artwork is gone, letterforms are rebuilt from reference photographs and a fresh plate is etched.
Indices & markers
Applied markers cleaned, refinished, and refitted, or replaced where they are damaged beyond saving. Each one is seated and aligned under magnification.
Relume
Swiss Super-LumiNova applied to markers and hands. BGW9, C1 or C3 depending on whether you want the dial to look new or to match an aged tone. Dial and hands are done together so they glow alike.
Re-plating & re-gilding
Gold, rose gold, and rhodium electroplating over a prepared substrate — for gilt dials that have gone dull or patchy, and for applied elements that need to match a re-cased watch.
Dial feet
Broken or missing dial feet — the posts that locate the dial on the movement — replaced and positioned so the dial seats square. A dial that sits crooked usually has a foot problem, not a dial problem.
